Evolution of the Group Structure

We, the Nisso Group, have been developing our business for more than half a century, with the philosophy of "Nurturing and Bringing Out the Best in People" in mind. This philosophy is more than just words, it is the foundation of our management and guides every decision we make. Even in a society that is changing at an unprecedented pace and becoming more complex, this philosophy has not wavered and continues to define our reason for existence, serving as a guiding principle for the future.

In October 2023, we established a pure holding company, NISSO Holdings Co., Ltd. This decision is an important step toward strengthening governance and risk management, while establishing a structure that enables each operating company to demonstrate its expertise. By becoming a holding company, we have evolved into a strong organization that can respond flexibly and reliably to the rapidly changing business environment by speeding up decision-making and enhancing business momentum.

"People" are our greatest asset.

The Nisso Group is promoting initiatives to enhance the sustainability of society as a whole as well as the sustainable growth of our business. At the heart of this is "people."

Since the founding of NISSO CORPORATION in 1971, the Nisso Group has considered "people" to be our most important asset, believed in their potential, and supported their growth. Human resource services connect people and companies, and create value for society. That is why we continue to put our founding philosophy into practice on the front lines.

Our mission is to deliver value to society through "people," and we are committed to creating an environment where each and every employee can feel a sense of job satisfaction and demonstrate their abilities to the fullest. We are strengthening our career development support and diversity promotion, and have put in place a system to ensure that we remain a company that is trusted and needed by society.

"People" are the core of the Nisso Group's services and our most important resource. We thoroughly respect human rights and ensure compliance, and promote human resources development that utilizes aptitude. We believe that creating environments where "working people can take on new challenges with satisfaction and peace of mind," and where "diverse values are respected and everyone can thrive in their own unique way," is the key to corporate growth and societal development. That is why we place importance not only on systems but also on on-site practice, and enhance flexible work-styles and comprehensive educational programs. These initiatives create a virtuous cycle that enhances corporate value by promoting engagement, securing human resources, and improving productivity.

Accelerating Investment in Human Capital

We believe that the "Practice of Human Capital Management" is at the heart of the Nisso Group's strategy for achieving sustainable growth.

The key to enhancing corporate value is to create a "Human Resources Development Model" that enables employees to continue to grow and to find satisfaction in their work. Therefore, we recognize that the virtuous cycle of strengthening human capital investment in employees, providing high value-added services to clients, and expanding profits is what leads to human capital management.

In particular, it is essential to promote career "visualization" and support individual growth. To this end, it is important to increase opportunities for dialogue and communication, and to support career development by grasping not only skills but also future visions and everyday concerns. In order to realize these efforts, the reform of the personnel system is an unavoidable top priority, and we have already begun to do so.

While the declining birthrate and aging population in Japan is a major social issue, it also presents a business opportunity for our company to recruit "people" and support their active participation. Creating an environment in which diverse human resources, including women, the elderly, foreign nationals, and people with disabilities, can flourish is directly linked to sustainable growth of our business. Furthermore, it is important to foster a corporate culture in which diverse employees can choose work-styles that suit them, based on their own independent thinking. This corporate culture creates a virtuous cycle that enhances corporate value by promoting increased engagement, securing talented human resources, and improving productivity.

Through these initiatives, the Nisso Group will accelerate investment in human capital to achieve sustainable growth and enhance corporate value.

Responding to Sustainability

The Nisso Group regards "responding to climate change" as a management issue essential for the survival of our business. In order to reduce GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions, one of the factors contributing to global warming, we are promoting a transformation to more energy-efficient business operations, including the introduction of renewable energy and switching to hybrid vehicles. Limiting the rise in temperature in the second half of the 21st century to 2°C rather than 1.5℃ is a common global challenge. In order to address this issue, NISSO HOLDINGS endorsed the TCFD in November 2023. In particular, we have set a target of reducing GHG emissions by 30% by 2030 and are promoting concrete plans.

In Scope 1 (fuel usage of company-owned vehicles), we are considering the introduction of electric vehicles and other measures to improve the efficiency of fuel usage, and for Scope 2 (usage of electricity), we are promoting the use of renewable energy. Furthermore, the entire Group will strive to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. These initiatives are directly linked to the realization of our mission by responding to changes in the global environment.

In addition, as a "people"-based company, it is important to accelerate the practice of human resources development, diversity, respect for human rights, occupational safety and health, and compliance management through investment in human capital. These activities will not be limited to the Nisso Group, but will be carried out in collaboration with our clients, business partners, and local communities, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.

Aiming for the Realization of a Sustainable Social

Based on our Sustainability Policy, the Nisso Group has identified 3 materialities (key issues) and has set implementation issues. In addition, we have established the Sustainability Committee and are working to build the necessary structures to resolve social issues.

Going forward, the Nisso Group will continue to make concerted efforts to meet the expectations of all of our stakeholders by strengthening our efforts to contribute to society through "people" and our businesses.
